Na density profiles in the MLT region are retrieved from SCIAMACHY observations of the Na D-line emission in the terrestrial nightglow. Due to the limited signal-to-noise ratio of the nightglow measurements, the retrieval is currently based on monthly averaged observations and the data has been averaged over the 30S - 30N latitude range.
