Saikat is a condensed matter theorist currently working as a Research Assistant in the Condensed Matter Theory group at the University of Greifswald in Germany. Before this, he held postdoctoral positions at Rutgers University, Los Alamos National Laboratory in the U.S., and the University of Augsburg in Germany. He completed a Ph.D. at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden, after doing undergraduate and postgraduate studies in India. His research focuses on strongly correlated materials, such as high-temperature superconductors, magnetic insulators, and quantum spin liquids. He is interested in how spin, charge, orbital, and lattice properties interact in these systems. To study them, he uses both analytical and numerical methods. His goal is to understand how these materials work and to develop models that explain their behavior.
