The VolImpact-SSiRC Workshop on volcanic effects on atmosphere and climate

The workshop is co-organized by the DFG funded Research Unit VolImpact (FOR 2820) and the APARC activity SSiRC and will take place from Wednesday, April 23 until Friday, April 25, 2025 at the Alfried-Krupp Institute of Advanced Studies in Greifswald, Germany.

All contributions related to volcanic effects on the atmosphere and climate are welcome, including satellite remote sensing and in-situ measurements of aerosols or relevant chemical species, plume modelling, global modelling of aerosols and their radiative or chemical impact, aerosol-cloud interactions, volcanic impact on  atmospheric dynamics, the hydrological cycle and surface climate.

Financial support will be provided by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG), the Alfried-Krupp-Foundation, NASA and APARC/SSiRC. There is a limited amount of funding to support early career scientists and colleagues from developing countries. If you want to apply for financial support, please indicate this when registering for the workshop.
