Seminar with Prof. Leslie B. Poole ( Wake Forest School of Medicine, USA)

Peroxiredoxins are potent enzymes that control cellular levels of peroxides and peroxynitrite, and in some cases influence redox signaling by acting as sensors and/or mediators of hydrogen peroxide signals. As peroxiredoxins themselves are regulated through various types of modifications, some of which are associated with ageing, redox signaling is inevitably affected. Modifications including nitration of tyrosine residues and modulation of cysteine redox state will be discussed as important regulators of peroxiredoxin functions in cells.

All interested are cordially invited!
